Debut Album Announced!!

Hello everyone, and sorry for the long lapse in updates. Since the last update made here, JURIBE released “BRIGHTEST WAY”, and four other singles: “Sōda-mi no Kiss”, “Namida no Naka Kimi o Mitsuke Ta”, “Hāto no bakudan”, and lastly, “Ima Sugu Kiss Me”. (Mental self note: update the discography page.)

The New Album. WOOHOO!

And now, JURIBE’s long awaited debut album has just been announced! Self-titled as JURIAN BEAT CRISIS, the album will be released on the 1st of September and will include every song released since her debut, as well as brand new song, “I believe”. Below is the track list.

  1. Sakura Mau (サクラ舞う)
  2. BRIGHTEST WAY
  3. Ima Sugu Kiss Me (今すぐKiss Me)
  4. Sōda-mi no Kiss (ソーダ味のKiss)
  5. Namida no Naka Kimi o Mitsuke Ta (ナミダの中キミをみつけた)
  6. Hurricane Love (ハリケーン☆ラブ)
  7. Mou Ichido… (もう一度…)
  8. Flying Rabbit (フライング・ラビット)
  9. I believe
  10. Lonely Flight
  11. Aitai yo… love you (逢いたいよ…love you)
  12. Hāto no Bakudan (ハートの爆弾) [Album Version]
  13. Go! Let’s Go!

Now the album will be released in three editions. The CD+DVD edition, priced at ¥3,990 (~$45 US) contains a CD with the above track list, and a DVD with the music videos from the original twelve singles, as well as an off-shoot clip, and the drama version of “Sakura Mau” (whatever that may be). The two other versions are CD-only, and apparently the only difference between them are the covers, and the fact that one edition just so happens to be about ¥1,000 less than the other; the cheaper one is a “student aid special edition”  priced at ¥2,000 (~$23 US) and is a limited edition, which means that if you don’t reserve yourself a copy ahead of September, you might find yourself with only the ~¥3,000 CD-only or the CD+DVD option to purchase. As JURIBE’s only physical release so far, I highly recommend you preorder it. (I know I will!)

Get the CD+DVD edition :) US $44.25Get the CD-only limited edition :D US $22.99Get the CD-only normal edition :S? US $34.25

That one on the center is the one you want to click. Japanese CD albums are almost never under $30, so this nice price came at a surprise to many, including myself. Anyway, once again, sorry about the lack of updates. It won’t happen again—promise! :)

Depending on where you live, have a great rest-of-a summer break!

Sneak Preview of “BRIGHTEST WAY”!

A two minute (well, one minute twenty second of the actual song) sneak preview to JURIBE’s upcoming single, “BRIGHTEST WAY”, has recently been uploaded on YouTube on the AvexNetwork channel. Of course, like everyone else, I was expecting a full PV, but maybe this was done because of the drama “BRIGHTEST WAY” is to be used in. Additionally, a release date for the single has been announced, April 7, 2010. So set your calendars for that date! Watch the preview PV below:

Official Site Gets a Makeover

A few hours ago Juria’s official artist website went distorted and looked like it was undergoing some obvious reconstruction. Now it looks like the Avex webmasters have finally gotten it fixed, and have more importantly given the website a rather interesting makeover. At the same time, the PV for “Mou Ichido…” has finally been uploaded to YouTube (although a much higher quality version already exists) and the cover to “BRIGHTEST WAY” has been announced, which you can see here.

First thing I noticed was the love letter...

If You’re in Tokyo or Kawasaki…

She may not be performing in a school with a schoolgirl outfit, but it's free.

If you magically happen to appear in Tokyo or Kawasaki during spring break in Japan (or if you say, already live there), then you may have the chance to see JURIAN BEAT CRISIS in concert for free. That’s right, Juria Kawakami will be playing at Toyoso LaLaport (Kawasaki), LA CITTADELLA (Tokyo), and Lazona Kawasaki on March 26, March 28, and April 2 respectively at no cost. According to the official JURIBE website, the shows are “mini lives”, so they won’t exactly take all day, but at least two of them are outside, which does sound pretty cool.

For more information and directions, read this page from her official website.

Update!

It looks like two more events were added to the page liked to above, one on April 4 and one on April 25.

JURIBE to sing for Gekikoi!

Titlecard for the drama "Gekikoi"

Titlecard for the drama Gekikoi

A few days ago it was announced that JURIAN BEAT CRISIS’s upcoming single “BRIGHTEST WAY” will be used as the theme song to the drama Geki♥koi ~Unmei Love Story~ (Japanese: 激♥恋~運命のラブストーリー; translating to something like: Fierce Love: Fate Love Story), which premiers next month on April 9. The drama is based on the popular eponymous keitai novel. This is the official summary of the drama from TokyoGraph:

In “Gekikoi,” Arai plays Miyu, a high school girl who can’t trust men after her father had an affair. Still, she inexplicably finds herself gradually falling for soccer club member Sou (Shu Watanabe). But when she learns the truth about him, her love becomes too painful to bear.

This has come as unexpected to many because NHK rarely uses songs as theme song from artists that haven’t yet released a debut album. But since this is a high school drama, I think “BRIGHTEST WAY” will fit in with the story just fine.

“Mou Ichido…” Released; Updates
