The New Album. WOOHOO!

And now, JURIBE’s long awaited debut album has just been announced! Self-titled as JURIAN BEAT CRISIS, the album will be released on the 1st of September and will include every song released since her debut, as well as brand new song, “I believe”. Below is the track list.

Now the album will be released in three editions. The CD+DVD edition, priced at ¥3,990 (~$45 US) contains a CD with the above track list, and a DVD with the music videos from the original twelve singles, as well as an off-shoot clip, and the drama version of “Sakura Mau” (whatever that may be). The two other versions are CD-only, and apparently the only difference between them are the covers, and the fact that one edition just so happens to be about ¥1,000 less than the other; the cheaper one is a “student aid special edition”  priced at ¥2,000 (~$23 US) and is a limited edition, which means that if you don’t reserve yourself a copy ahead of September, you might find yourself with only the ~¥3,000 CD-only or the CD+DVD option to purchase. As JURIBE’s only physical release so far, I highly recommend you preorder it. (I know I will!)

That one on the center is the one you want to click. Japanese CD albums are almost never under $30, so this nice price came at a surprise to many, including myself. Anyway, once again, sorry about the lack of updates. It won’t happen again—promise!

She may not be performing in a school with a schoolgirl outfit, but it's free.

If you magically happen to appear in Tokyo or Kawasaki during spring break in Japan (or if you say, already live there), then you may have the chance to see JURIAN BEAT CRISIS in concert for free. That’s right, Juria Kawakami will be playing at Toyoso LaLaport (Kawasaki), LA CITTADELLA (Tokyo), and Lazona Kawasaki on March 26, March 28, and April 2 respectively at no cost. According to the official JURIBE website, the shows are “mini lives”, so they won’t exactly take all day, but at least two of them are outside, which does sound pretty cool.

Titlecard for the drama Gekikoi

A few days ago it was announced that JURIAN BEAT CRISIS’s upcoming single “BRIGHTEST WAY” will be used as the theme song to the drama Geki♥koi ~Unmei Love Story~ (Japanese: 激♥恋～運命のラブストーリー; translating to something like: Fierce Love: Fate Love Story), which premiers next month on April 9. The drama is based on the popular eponymous keitai novel. This is the official summary of the drama from TokyoGraph:

In “Gekikoi,” Arai plays Miyu, a high school girl who can’t trust men after her father had an affair. Still, she inexplicably finds herself gradually falling for soccer club member Sou (Shu Watanabe). But when she learns the truth about him, her love becomes too painful to bear.

This has come as unexpected to many because NHK rarely uses songs as theme song from artists that haven’t yet released a debut album. But since this is a high school drama, I think “BRIGHTEST WAY” will fit in with the story just fine.
